MEDIA STATEMENT PETRA.100-9/1/4(66)

The Green Electricity Tariff (GET) program will continue in 2025, offering a quota of at least 6,600 GWj at the same premium rate:
- 10 sen/kWh for low-voltage residential and non-residential users.
- 20 sen/kWh for medium- and high-voltage non-residential users.
This initiative allows electricity supplied by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to be sourced from renewable energy (RE), enabling users to reduce their carbon footprint and fulfill Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.
Key Announcements

- GET users in 2025 will not incur Imbalance Cost Pass Through (ICPT) charges, emphasizing that green electricity prices are shielded from fuel price volatility.
- Backdated subscriptions to 1 January 2025 will be available starting 1 March 2025 through the myTNB portal.
- Subscriptions automatically renew after the lock-in period unless terminated by users.
- Premium Rates for long-term plans:

- 2-year: 9 sen/kWh (low-voltage), 19 sen/kWh (medium/high-voltage).
- 3-year: 8 sen/kWh (low-voltage), 18 sen/kWh (medium/high-voltage).
- Termination Options:
- Early termination of locked-in subscriptions is available, with a fee of 2 sen/kWh for unutilized GET.
- Revenue Allocation:
- Proceeds from GET will support Malaysia’s energy transition efforts, such as expanding renewable energy capacity and initiatives like the Solar for Rakyat Scheme (SolaRIS).
Impact of GET Since 2021
- Supplied 9,400 GWj of green electricity to over 3,000 users across various categories.
- Helped corporations and industries meet ESG commitments by avoiding greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This program, enhanced with strategic refinements, aims to strengthen its credibility and governance, ensuring sustainable practices and providing flexible access to green electricity for companies committed to ESG goals.
